Mary Ballenger

Mary Kate Davis Ballenger, 82, of Spartanburg, SC died Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Magnolia Manor-Spartanburg. Born February 12, 1939, in Arcadia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harold Joseph Davis and Sarah Leila Waltrip Davis.

A graduate of Fairforest High School Class of 1957 and Spartanburg Methodist College, Mrs. Ballenger was a retired accountant with Reeves Brothers with 32 years of service. She was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Louise Davis Gwinn (Wayne) of Spartanburg, SC, and sister-in-law, Nell Davis of Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her sons, James Henry Ballenger III and Joseph Davis Ballenger, and brothers, Harold Joseph Davis (Virginia) and James Earle Davis.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. David Slatton. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arcadia First Baptist Church PO Box 25, Arcadia, SC 29320.
