Mary Arthur

Mary Cannady Arthur, 89, of Fairforest, SC, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at RoseCrest-Inman. Born July 29, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Maggie Cannady, and widow of Joseph Thomas Arthur. She was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Willis (Dan) of Moore, SC, and Joan Penn (James) of Gaffney, SC; grandson, Adam Willis (Morgan) of Roebuck, SC; great-granddaughter, Riley J. Willis of Roebuck, SC; and a sister, Helen Bailey of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Joe Dempsey. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice of SC, 429 North Main Street Suite 3, Greenville, SC 29601.
