Mary Diangikes Angelakis, 60, of 211 Trolley Car Way, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at her home. Born October 20, 1949, in Arahova, Laconia, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Athanasios (Tom) and Panagiota (Betty) Kopsiaftis Diangikes. A graduate of Winthrop College, she received a Masters degree from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and was a former math teacher and restaurateur and the author of a cookbook, The Lazy Cook's Cookbook. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Survivors include her husband, Matthew A. Angelakis; three daughters, Sia Angelakis of Atlanta, GA, Georgia Angelakis of Spartanburg, and Pamela Angelakis of Charleston; a son, Tony Angelakis of Spartanburg; a brother, Billy Diangikes and his wife Grier of Spartanburg; and a godson, Yiannis Scordilis of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010, with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church conducted by the Rev. George F. Nayfa. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
