Mary Alverson

Mary Juanita "Budgie" Morrow Alverson, 91, of Spartanburg, died Friday, December 7, 2012, at Windsor House-Spartanburg. Born October 11, 1921, in Landrum, SC, she was the widow of Zarah Dean Alverson and daughter of the late Isom C. and Olive Ann Harrison Morrow. Mrs. Alverson was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg and she retired from Sears and Roebuck after 37 years of service. Surviving are her son, Larry Alverson and his wife Emma May of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Leigh Ledford, her husband Larry, and their children, Elise, Seth, and Drew, all of Simpsonville; and sister, Dorothy M. Bokanoski of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, December 10, 2012, in First Baptist North Spartanburg Cemetery, by the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet and the Rev. Larry Ledford. Memorials may be made to First Baptist North Spartanburg, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316. The family is at their respective homes.
