Marvin West

Marvin Russell West, 73, of Riddle Road, Pauline and Robin St. of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA, after fighting a courageous battle with ALS. Born February 16, 1943 in Pauline, SC, he was the son of the late Virgil Dean West, Jr. and Mary Sherbert West. A graduate of Roebuck High School and a U. S. Army Veteran, Mr. West was retired from Reeves Brothers. He loved to read, travel, and spend time with friends and family. Survivors include sisters, Gail W. Davis (Ken) of Spartanburg, SC; and Dianne W. Price (Jim) of Duluth, GA; and a brother, Michael West (Denise) of Boiling Springs, SC. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3119 Hwy. 56, Pauline, SC 29374. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Greg Butler. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3119 Hwy. 56, Pauline, SC 29374.
