Marvin Jack Jones, 91, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 26, 1920 in Norton, VA, he was the son of the Emmett Monroe and Myrtle Frazer Jones and husband of the late Ival Mae Wheatley Jones. Mr. Jones was retired from Meadow Gold Dairy, a member of First Church of God, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He enjoyed woodworking especially making crosses and giving them away and playing the guitar. Survivors include his daughter, Harriet Lapointe of Seymour, CT; two sons, Marvin L. Jones of Greensburg, KY and Terry A. Jones of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Victor Jones of Norton, VA, and Greene A. Jones of Berlin, NJ; and a sister Clancy Jones of Crystal River, FL Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday March 7, 2012 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in M. J. "Dolly" Cooper VA Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
