Martha Zimmerman

Martha Elizabeth Riddle Zimmerman, 82, of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 1, 1927, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Marie Fowler Riddle and the wife of the late Darcy Edgar "Doc" Zimmerman. She was a charter member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Z. Beach and her husband George of Spartanburg, and Betty Z. Slatton and her husband Rev. David Slatton of Greer; four grandchildren, Angie Rogers and her husband Mitchell, Jason Beach and his wife Michele, Kevin Beach and his wife Anna, Alison Slatton and Adam Brown; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Rogers, Caitlin Rogers, Austin Rogers, Gracie Rogers, Darcy Rogers, Timothy Beach, and Caroline Beach; two brothers, Frank Riddle and his wife Monnie of Boiling Springs, and Jimmy Riddle and his wife Faye of Cross Anchor; and a sister, Shirley Huskey and her husband Defoix of Roebuck. She was predeceased by a brother, Clifton Riddle, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Crain. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Beaver Hills Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. David High and the Rev. Larry Bateman.
