Martha Rudasill

Martha Louise Earle Rudasill, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 2, 1922, in Depoy, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Winfield Earle and Mary Mildred Shannon Earle and widow of Eugene Lanier Rudasill. An independent woman of strong will and determination, grace, and class, Martha was completely devoted to her Lord and family. She was a current member of St. James United Methodist Church and former member of New Pisgah Baptist Church (now First Baptist North Spartanburg) where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved yardwork and line dancing and also became an accomplished ballroom dancer. Martha was an accomplished story teller and avid reader, having been taught to read again after having her first stroke in 2003. She was a data processor at Draper Corporation in Arcadia for many years and retired from Reeves Brothers. Survivors include her children, Mike Rudasill (Judy) of Duncan, SC, Fran Lowry (Bo) of York, SC, Britt Rudasill (Angie) of Campobello, SC; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Cooke Earle of Hammond, IN and Mike Earle of Utah. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Ann Saeger; and brothers, Wayne Earle and Terry Earle. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, January 15, 2017, at St. James United Methodist Church. A service honoring her memory will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. J. Wayne Smith, Jr. No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 213 North Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
