Martha Emily Barnett

Martha Emily Barnett, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.  Martha was born on June 14, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Edward E. and Fanny W. Barnett.  

She was the beloved, dear sister to Joyce Barnett Roland and Charles Edward Barnett, Sr. In addition to her sister and brother, she is survived by her wonderful sister-in-law, Kim Barnett and her nephews, Christopher Paul Barnett and Charles Edward Barnett, Jr.  Martha is also survived by her deeply adored great nieces and nephew, Isabelle Barnett, Afton Barnett, and Everett Barnett.  Martha was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Lander College.

Martha retired and enjoyed buying school supplies for her great nieces yearly.  She also enjoyed family life, going to the flea markets, yard sales, thrift shops, looking for a bargain and eating out.  Martha and her sister, Joyce, enjoyed many years together sharing life and making memories over their lives.

As an Administrative Assistant, Martha enjoyed working for non-profit organizations such as The Haven and Big Brother/Big Sister.  Martha will be missed more than she imagined.

Her graveside service will be held at 12:00PM, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
