Marteele Cravey Brown, 87, formerly of Pershing Street, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Golden Age Nursing Home. Born September 18, 1922, in Tifton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Cora Ross Cravey and the wife of the late James Clayton Brown. She was a retired executive secretary at Spartanburg Insulation, a member of Glendale Baptist Church, and a member of the Decoupage Guild of Washington, D.C. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Lancaster of Charleston, and Barbara Keeter and her husband Steve of Spartanburg; three grandsons, Judson E. Lancaster, Jr., Timothy M. Keeter, and Christopher A. Keeter; a granddaughter, Amanda K. Markmann; three great-granddaughters, Ella Turner, Kimberly Lancaster, and Arden Keeter; three great-grandsons, Austin Lancaster, Gabe Keeter, and Noah Keeter; two brothers, Silas "Junior" Cravey and Jim Frank Cravey; and two sisters, Faye Wood and Emma Golden. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel with Timothy M. Keeter, Christopher A. Keeter, and Amanda K. Markmann as officiants. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Barbara and Steve Keeter, 120 Pershing Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
