Marshall K. Newman, 67, of Spartanburg, SC went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born June 29, 1954 in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Claude Newman and Edna Ridings Newman Brown.
A US Marine, Marshall was retired from the United Parcel Service. He was a longtime member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church. Marshall was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. He has a true servant heart. All who knew him were helped by him. Marshall built a long legacy of faith, family, fun, and love. He was enjoying retirement with Kim and the grandbabies.
A born-again Christian, he was very involved with the church ministries including, Deacon, Counting Committee, Judgement House and Children’s Ministry.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Kimberly Bullington Newman, his son, Matthew K. Newman (fiancé Valerie Lawter) of Chesnee, SC, his daughters, Mandy N. Osment and husband, Matt of Chesnee, SC and Joni N. Hill and husband, David of Spartanburg, SC, seven grandchildren, Kenin Newman and wife, Emilie, Shelby Newman, and their mother, Tracy Newman, Clay Osment, Nate Osment, Kayley Hill and Xander Freeman, two great grandchildren, Faith Newman and Karter Newman, his sisters, Dorothy Price (Roy) of Mill Spring, NC and Brenda Bingham of Pineville, KY, stepfather, A. C. Brown, stepbrothers, Jim Tucker and Charles Brown, and stepsisters, Cheryl Brown and Carolyn Knight. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roger Newman.
Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:30 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the chapel. Burial will be in Cherokee Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 2699 Chesnee Highway, Chesnee, SC 29323.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Springs Baptist Church, 2699 Chesnee Highway, Chesnee, SC 29323.
