Marshall Childress

Marshall Jessie "Mark" Childress, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 14, 1934, in Black Water, VA, he was the son of the late Jessie and Ethel Childress, and husband of the late Barbara Dale Thomason Childress. Mr. Childress was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church of Cowpens, SC. He was retired from Musgrove Mills, was a Mason and member of Clifton Lodge, a Hejaz Shriner, and a member of the Army National Guard. Surviving is his son, Eddie Childress; granddaughters, Lana Phillips, Ginger Smith, and Jamie Suttles; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service with Masonic Rites will follow at 3:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
