Marlene Towery

Marlene Burrell Towery, 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at White Oak Manor. Born October 7, 1936 in White Stone, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Haywood and Mary Burgess Burrell and was the widow of Charles Lindzie Towery. Mrs. Towery was a CMA and retired after 35 plus years of service from Surgical Associates as the office manager. She was Medical Secretary of the Year numerous times. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Neal Towery (Melody) of Cowpens; granddaughters, Nikki Allison (Rick) of Enoree; Lindzie Ann Atkins (Kyle) of Spartanburg; and Morgan Towery of Cowpens; great grandchildren, Lilly Allison and Lucas Allison; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Teresa Moore; grandson, Charles Michael Towery; and brother, Tommy Burrell. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, May 15, 2017 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Howell. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
