Mark Alexander Coomes, 42, of 251 Rock Springs Drive, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, AZ. Born March 9, 1968 in Greensboro, NC, he was the son of Howard Alexander and Elaine C. Coomes of Greensboro, NC. He was senior project engineer with Freightliner Custom Chassis, a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was an usher, and an adult volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 28. Above all, Mark was devoted to his loving family. He was a dedicated father, faithful husband, and wonderful son and brother. Mark loved to spend time outdoors and in nature, hiking and camping with his wife and children. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christi Reneé Johnson Coomes; a son, Benjamin Alexander Coomes, 14, of the home; a daughter, Sarah Ann Elaine Coomes, 11, of the home; and a brother, Bryan Moore Coomes and wife Laura of Woodstock, GA. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010 in the Social Hall at First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. David A. Renwick and the Rev. Susan E. Moorefield.
