Marjorie Palmer

Marjorie Elizabeth Elledge Palmer, 84, of Spartanburg, died Monday, June 25, 2012, from the ravages of Alzheimer's disease. Born December 12, 1927, in Miami, FL, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennelle Barnes Elledge. To the end, Lib appeared happy but could not communicate. She will be severely missed by her family, friends, and devoted husband of 60 years, Charles B. Palmer. At her demise she was living at Dillon Pointe where she received superior care and comfort. In addition to her husband, surviving are two children, Jan Ellis (Homer) of Twin Lakes, Moore, SC, and Dr. John Joseph Palmer (Marcy) of Thornblade, Greer, SC; six grandchildren, Melissa Palmer, John Joseph Palmer, Jr. (Samantha), Kimberly Cansler, Kevin Bowers (Jaime), Dorothy Ellis, and Mathew Ellis (Gen); and four great-grandchildren. Lib will be cremated and interred in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity; the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The families are at their respective homes.
