Marjorie L. Garner McGowan, 79, died Monday, December 27, 2010, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born August 6, 1931, in Spartanburg, to the late Benjamin Ryan and Annie Rachel Foster Garner. She was the wife of Bobby E. Sellars and was formerly married to the late John H. McGowan. She was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church and was retired from real estate and mobile home sales. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (James) Gilmore of Spartanburg and Patti McGowan of Orlando, FL; a son, Lynn Sellars of Gaffney; two granddaughters, Kim (Jimmie) Ross of Campobello and Jill (Jeremy) Rose of Nashville, TN; two grandsons, Zack and Horace Sellars of Gaffney; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Jr., Bethany, and Caleb Rose, Nicholas and Benjamin Ross; nieces, JoAnn Carlisle, Lynn Cazallis, Cheryl Ladd, Phyllis Wyatt, and Cindy Burke; a nephew, Richard Tinsley; and a special great-niece, Reid Wyatt. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jonelle Philbeck, Doris Tinsley, and Mary Burke; and a granddaughter, Bethany Lynn Groce. Marjorie was the last surviving member of the Garner family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jeremy Rose. Visitation will follow the service.
