Margie Williams Caldwell, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, September 19, 2014, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills-Landrum. Born July 31, 1923, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Willie Whitner Williams and Nell Davis Williams, and widow of Hollis Murray Caldwell. Mrs. Caldwell retired from Sam's Club in Spartanburg after 20 years of service. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Cavins, SC. Surviving are her daughters, Anita Edwards (Mike) of Columbus, NC, and Marsha Alverson (Keith) of Chapin, SC; sons, Doug Caldwell of Danville, KY, and Carroll Caldwell of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Robert Caldwell, David Alverson, Steven Alverson (Jennie), Aaron Caldwell, and Kim Gardner (Tracey); great-granddaughter, Naomie Alverson; sister, Veril Gabrels of Spartanburg, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, September 22, 2014, at Nazareth Presbyterian Church, 680 Nazareth Church Rd., Moore, SC 29369. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. David Sutton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Terry Collins, Mike Edwards, Keith Alverson, and Reid Caldwell. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
