Marjorie Clarke Burgess, 77, died Friday, February 4, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Karen Brandenburg. Born January 28, 1934, in Stockport, England, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret Darlington Clarke Cuff. She was the widow of Albert Burgess, Jr. and was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include four daughters, Karen Brandenburg (Rick Sizemore) of Greer, Cindy Erwood and husband Robert of Moore, Carol Mason (Dennis Norwood) of Whitney, and Kim Burgess (Rick Burnett) of Glendale; two granddaughters, Katy (fiancé Jeremy Jordan) of Spartanburg and Cristin Shetley of Buffalo; a grandson, Jeremy Burgess of Columbia; three brothers, Bill Clarke and wife Gwen, Howard Cuff and wife Carol, and John Cuff, all of England; several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; an "adopted" son, Kennedy Moore; and a dear friend, Stella Volianitis. She was predeceased by two daughters, Debra and Mary Ann Burgess, and a grandson, Christopher Helms. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, February 7, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Thelma Simpson. The family is at their respective homes.
