Marion Corn Sr.

Charles Marion Corn, Sr., 82, of Inman, SC, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Inman Healthcare. Born October 12, 1934, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Hal and Geneva Beville Corn and husband of 56 years to the late Elizabeth "Libby" Clayton Corn. Marion was a devoted husband, father, professional horse trainer, and friend who never met a stranger. He was also a constant comedian who was quick with a joke! A member of First Baptist North Spartanburg he was a former choir member participating in the "Twin Living Christmas Trees" and other choral church groups as well as a member of Saxon Masonic Lodge AFM. Survivors include his son, Charles "Charlie" Marion Corn, Jr. and wife Shon of Roebuck, SC; and six beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Blalock; and brother, Carroll Corn. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Bob Neely. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 online at www.alz.org; or Piedmont Hospice, 209-A Riverside Court, Greer, SC 29650.
