Marilyn Francis Scruggs, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at White Oak at North Grove. Born January 26, 1926, in Albertville, AL, she was the daughter of the late James Ottis and Ruth Anne Hodges Scruggs.
Marilyn was retired from Associated Petroleum Carriers, Inc. She was an active member of First Baptist Spartanburg and was a Master Gardener.
Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Ruthanne “Candy” Neely Arrington (Jim), her great niece, Neely Arrington Wright, great nephew, James Asbury “Jay” Arrington (Chelsea), her much loved great-great niece and nephews, Emerald Neely Arrington, Gibbs Arrington Wright and Griffith James Arrington, her other nieces and nephews, Terri Scruggs Smith, Bernard C. Scruggs, Stephen D. Scruggs, Deana Scruggs Vander Aarde, The Rev. James Hodges “Chip” Scruggs, and John Mark Scruggs. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Scruggs Neely and Marjorie Louise Scruggs, and her brothers, Bernard Ottis Scruggs and James Hodges Scruggs.
Visitation will be at 1:30 – 2:30 pm Friday, July 29, 2022, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside service will be at 3:00 pm in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. James Hodges “Chip” Scruggs.
