Marilyn Grant

Marilyn Thompson Helton Grant, 56, of 2200 Old Georgia Highway, died Friday, January 7, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 24, 1954, in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles Neal and Maye Naomi Fallow Thompson. She was employed by Hoechst Celanese and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. In addition to husband, Roger Dale Grant, survivors include a son, Danny Helton, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Gaffney; her stepfather, Robert Spencer; her stepmother, Sherry Thompson; a stepson, Roger Grant, Jr.; two stepdaughters, Jada Morgan and Angel Grant; two sisters, Melonie Henderson and husband Bill, all of Spartanburg, and Sherry Lawter of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Pete Thompson. Visitation will be 2:30-3:45 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel, conducted by Pastor Mike Royal. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
