Marie Hammett Parham, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 11, 1925, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Eula Robbs Hammett and widow of Joseph Parson Parham. Marie loved cooking and baking. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from Raycord. Surviving are four sisters, Margaret Quinn of Gaffney, SC, Ozelle Mauney of West Palm Beach, FL, Millie Spake and husband Bill of Waynesville, NC, and Carolyn Swaney of Katy, TX; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Miriam Hayes, Ellen Hayes, Frances Martin, and an infant sister. Her sisters are very appreciative of the kindness and care shown by her niece, June Hull the past few years. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, September 26, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 316 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
