Marie Blackwell

Mrs. Marie Hullett Blackwell, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 05, 2024. Marie was born in Chesnee, South Carolina to the late Lloyd and Leatha Hullett. She was the proud wife of the late Raymond Lee Blackwell Sr. with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.

For 32 ½ years she was employed with Credit Bureau Associates, as well as J.M. Fields for 17 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking and spending time with her family. She was also known for her "Coconut Cake" which was legendary within her family. She was a devoted member of River Hills Baptist Church for 65 years where she found a great fulfillment in the fellowship and support of her church family. She was also a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.

Marie is survived by her two sons: Raymond L. Blackwell Jr. (Nancy), and Joseph M. Blackwell (Carolyn); grandchildren; Wendy Schulties (Brian) and Bryan Blackwell (Samantha); great grandchildren; Hayden and Bailey Grace Schulties; two brothers; Kate Hullett (Helen), and Donald Hullett (Mary); and her long-term caregiver Teresa Johnson. Marie was predeceased by; a son; Craig Blackwell; a brother; John Hullett; and 5 sisters; Correll H. Bonner, Lillian H. Lawter, Lorie H. Waters, Doris (Dot) Henderson, and Patricia H. Sherrill.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street Spartanburg, SC 29307, with a graveside service immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road Spartanburg, SC 29307, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
