Margie Walker

Margie M. Walker, 87, of the Beaumont Mill Village of Spartanburg, died peacefully in her sleep at the home of her son and family on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Born January 30, 1928, in Belton, SC, she was the widow of Ralph A. Walker to whom she was married for 49 years, and the daughter of the late Jim and Maude Bannister. Mrs. Walker was a member of Westview Church of Spartanburg, SC. Survivors include her children, Steve Walker (Brenda) of the home and Joann Wright (Gerald), of Greer, SC; sister, Sue Reed of Belton, SC; four grandchildren, Shannon Walker Smith and Christopher Walker (Tricia), all of Spartanburg, SC, Kimberly Ann Dubbe of Inman, SC, and Gerald Scott Wright of Greer, SC; eight great-grandchildren, special thanks to her great-granddaughters, Jeanna and Stephanie for their love and care of Grandma; and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, September 4, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Pickel and Pastor Raymond Ford. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Westview Church Building Fund, 218 Wilder Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
