Margaret Pettit

Margaret Sill Casey Pettit, 84, of Cowpens, died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at her home. Born April 1, 1925, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Agnes Brown Sill. She was retired from Hoechst Celanese, past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Moss of Cowpens; four sons, Tommy Casey, Steve Casey, and Larry Casey, all of Cowpens, and Randy Casey of Pauline; a brother, Thorny Sill of Spartanburg; a special granddaughter raised in the home, Kathy Helton; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter at birth, Sylvia Ann Casey. Visitation will be 12:00-1:45 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Richard Burton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Agnes Brown Sill Scholarship Fund, c/o Spartanburg Methodist College, 1000 Powell Mill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home of her daughter, Linda Moss, 105 Alfred Drive, Cowpens, SC 29330.
