Margaret Peterson

Margaret "Marge" Hannan Peterson, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 8, 1930, in Erie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie Templey Hannan. Mrs. Peterson loved her family, especially her husband and grandchildren. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for 49 years, the Cema Chreitzberg Sunday School Class, Circle #4, and was active in all church functions. She retired from the SC School for the Deaf & Blind after 30 years of service. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Jackson "Jack" E. Peterson; sons, Jack E. Peterson Jr. (Pat) and Jeff T. Peterson (Kristy), all of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Jacalyn Stephens, Lauren Eckley, Ryan Peterson, and Blake Peterson; great-granddaughter, Jaelyn Stephens; and sisters, Elizabeth Ann Schiappa of Steubenville, OH and Nancy Householder of Knoxville, OH. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Eckley; brothers and sisters, John Hannan, Patsy Hannan, David Hannan, Tucker Hannan, Cappy Yasho, and Mary Ellen Deluce. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in the Parlor of Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by The Rev. David E. Nichols. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
