Margaret Parris

Margaret Louise Sellars Parris, 88, formerly of Cowpens, SC, passed away September 7, 2013, at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg, SC, where she was cared for by a loving and considerate staff for two and one-half years. Born March 12, 1925, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Ara and Alice Swofford Sellars and the widow of Edward Allen Parris, to whom she was married for 69 years. Mrs. Parris was formerly a cosmetics buyer for drug stores in Spartanburg, SC, Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC. Also, she and her husband enjoyed many years of square dancing and round dancing. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Ann Parris Taylor (Jerry) and Norma Jean Parris Hayes (Lloyd), as well as five grandsons and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Dean Leroy Sellars. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Kirby, Jr. Interment will be private.
