Margaret Morrow

Margaret Starnes Morrow, 72, of Moore, died Monday, December 28, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 29, 1937, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Lois Thornton Starnes. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Spartanburg General Hospital for Clinical Laboratory Technicians, she was a laboratory technician with Spartanburg General Hospital for a number of years and then served on the staff of Doctors Holcombe, Kiesau, Barrow and Davis for 27 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Paul Morris Sunday School Class. Margaret was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and was dedicated to the care of her many patients. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jones T. "Tommy" Morrow; two daughters, Cindy M. Sarratt and husband David of St. Matthews, and Sherry M. Wood and husband Brian of Spartanburg; a son, Chris Morrow and wife Lori of Moore; four grandchildren, Andrea Sarratt of Jacksonville, FL and Graham, John, and Martin Morrow all of Moore; a brother, Don Starnes of Spartanburg; a brother-in-law, John A. Morrow, and nephew, Josh Morrow, both of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley May. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the love and care given by her caregiver, Beverly Kirby. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Steve Holler, the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher, and the Rev. Heather Humphries. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
