Margaret Mcwilliams

Maggie McWilliams, 89, of Spartanburg, formerly of Rome, GA, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 19, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mack Boone Rickman and Lula Mae Hill Rickman of Spartanburg. She was preceded in death by husbands Dr. Edward T. O'Dell of Spartanburg, and William G. McWilliams of Rome, GA. Maggie was a 1938 graduate of Spartanburg High School, and a 1942 graduate of Winthrop College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rome, GA and taught math at the Darlington School in Rome. Survivors include daughters, Lynne O'Dell Washington and Steve of Richland, WA, Pam O'Dell Doane and Scott of Colorado Springs, CO, Vivian O'Dell and Colette Morrow of Chicago, IL; her son, Taylor O'Dell of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Charlotte O'Dell of San Antonio, TX and Addie O'Dell-Morrow of Chicago, IL; stepsons, Pete McWilliams and Bonnie of Durham, NC, and Kirk McWilliams of Bozeman, MT; step-grandchildren, Alison McWilliams of Winston-Salem, NC, and Robin McWilliams and Kristen of Raleigh, NC. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The families are at their respective homes.
