Margaret Smith Mathis, of Boiling Springs, died Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born February 6, 1938, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Idalhia Lee Smith. Margaret was retired from Spring Industries of Lyman and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her beloved husband of 27 years, Stephen Dale Mathis; daughters, Tammy Greer and husband Donnie of Greer, and Heather Millwood and husband John of Boiling Springs; son, Randy Cushman and wife Donna of Inman; granddaughters, Ashley Laubenstein of Spartanburg, Summer Cushman of Easley, Megan Greer of Greer, and Kalon Chaffin of Boiling Springs; grandsons, Randall Cushman of Greenville, Chris Greer of Greer, and Austin Motter of Boiling Springs; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Millie Day of Easley, Varnette Gibson of Florida, Juanita Bahr of Rockford, IL, and Deb Isman of Charleston; and brother, George Smith of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a brother, Roger Dale Smith. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, September 26, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, by the Rev. Fred Quigley and Pastor Allan Ruff. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
