Margaret "Peggy" Gooch Kelly, of Spartanburg, SC, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, July 12, 2014. She was born on July 4, 1954. Margaret was predeceased by parents, Frank Marshall and Mary Ruth Stacy Gooch. Mrs. Kelly taught school for 30 years at Boiling Springs High School. She graduated from Spartanburg High School and held a B.A. in History and Master of Education from Converse College. She is known for her love and passion for horses and her talent for music. Mrs. Kelly enjoyed playing the French horn and piano, and was a past member of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Survivors are her husband, Michael, and daughters, Stacy Lorraine Kelly of Columbia, SC; Anne Elizabeth Kelly, of Aiken, SC; brother, Marshall Gooch, of Greenville, SC; sister, Mary Gee, of Spartanburg, SC; two nieces, Elizabeth and Sally; and two nephews, Ned and Seth. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306, and will be conducted by the Rev. Thurman Anderson and the Rev. David Smith. Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
