Margaret Holt

Margaret Louise Dedmond Holt, 90, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Holt was born April 23, 1920, in High Shoals Township, Rutherford County, NC. She was one of twelve children of the late Thomas Watson Dedmond and Susan Cantrell Dedmond. Survivors include a daughter, Jill H. Gilpatrick of Chesnee; a son, Thomas R. Holt and wife Lynne of Spartanburg; four grandchildren, Amy G. Taylor and husband Tony of Boiling Springs; Laura K. Gilpatrick and Jessica M. Holt both of Boiling Springs; and Nicholas P. Holt and wife Laura of Columbia; one great-grandchild, Ivan Taylor of Boiling Springs; a brother, Haley Cantrell Dedmond and wife Elizabeth of Lawndale, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Earl Holt of Spartanburg, died January, 1985; and a son-in-law, Michael William Gilpatrick, died September, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, the Rev. Lee Roper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Mrs. Holt's family wishes to express sincere appreciation and thanks to the dedicated staff of RoseCrest Nursing Home and White Oak Manor for the skilled and tender care provided over the past few years. The family will be at the home of Laura Gilpatrick, 216 Summer Lady Lane, Boiling Springs, SC.
