Margaret Bell Hardy, 93, of Spartanburg, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at her home. Born October 21, 1917, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Edmund Chappell and Minnie Elsmore Bell and wife of the late Fred Delphi Hardy, Sr. Mrs. Hardy was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was retired from Southern Bell Telephone after 40 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include her son, Fred D. Hardy, Jr. and his wife Patti of Aiken; and a sister, Elizabeth Bell Snyder of Keller, TX. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 897 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Agape Hospice, 1317 Ebenezer Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
