Margaret Beck

Margaret Abernathy Beck, 93, of Spartanburg, beloved mother to many and best friend, of 677 Canaan Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her husband Camp Croft Staff Sergeant Jack Beck of 56 years together in life and love, and her son Neils Beck. She was born on December 2, 1915, and was with the Quaker Oats Company in New Jersey for 23 years and the Cornell Medical Center - New York Hospital System for four years. She was of the Baptist faith. She will always be remembered for her strength she gathered from God daily, her words of wisdom and her independence, which was a sight to behold. A very dear and precious lady with lots of love to give to all who know and loved her. You will be missed "O beautiful one - You are happy now - You are with Jesus," Mr. Jack and your son. Survivors include two sisters, Peggy Potter of Goose Creek, SC, Jodie Quintero of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Douglas Abernathy of Woodruff, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
