Margaret Louise Hames Beam, 98, of Spartanburg, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at Dillon Pointe. Born March 8, 1914, in Gaffney, SC, she was the widow of John Claude Beam, and daughter of the late George C. and Eva Welchel Hames. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class. Surviving are her daughter, Claudia B. Collins of Spartanburg; son, Franklin Beam and wife Barbara of Rock Hill; granddaughters, Suzi Odom and husband John of Moore, Jill Jolly and husband Eddie of Chesnee, Melanie O'Neal and husband Lee of Rock Hill, and Rebecca Caney and husband Darryl of Rock Hill; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Samuel Beam; daughter-in-law, Susan Carson Beam; and son-in-law, Paul Collins, Jr. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, June 25, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David M. Blanton and the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
