Marcy Horne

Marcy Smith Horne, 77, lovingly known as the "Nana of Boiling Springs," died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 23, 1941, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Lester Smith and Bertie Allen Smith and widow of Ray D. Horne. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, Mrs. Horne was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was the owner/operator of Nana's Day Care for 26 years. Survivors include her children, Sandra Slater (Mike) of Chesnee, SC, Kandy Cannon (John) of Boiling Springs, SC, Danny Horne (Kerry) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Bo Horne (Selena) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Lindsay Evans, Brett Slater, Adam Horne, Kaitlyn Cannon (Travis), Noah Cannon, Travis Caldwell (Heather), Jare Gault (Brandy), Maci Hembree (Heath), and Blue Cooper; great-grandchildren, Ocean Horne, Willow Horne, Ila Cooper, Harper Gault, Carter Evans, and Maelyn Rose Caldwell; special angel, Cheyenne Rae; sister, Diane Bush (Roger) of Boiling Springs, SC; sister-in-law, Peggy Smith of Spartanburg, SC; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, John Smith. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, by The Rev. Dusty Martin and The Rev. Ronnie Norris. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
