Marcia Kirkland

Marcia Lynn McAbee Kirkland, 50, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Ivy Grove Residential Care Center in Gaffney, SC. Born March 6, 1965, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Howard F. McAbee Jr. and Nancy Carolyn Satterfield McAbee of Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Kirkland, a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1983, was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and previously worked in the mail room at the Herald Journal newspaper. She loved music and her grandson. In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by a son, Matthew Lee Kirkland (Cayla); grandson, Eli Kirkland and brother, Jerry Scott McAbee (Tashia), all of Spartanburg, SC. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 14, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC, conducted by the Rev. Namon Dawkins. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mrs. Kirkland's grandson, Graisen Kirkland, school fund, Arthur State Bank, 4285 S.
