Marcia Easler

Marcia Smith Easler, 61, of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 2, 1949, in Albany, GA, she was the daughter of the late Pat Gaulden and Rubye Dillard Smith. A loving wife and devoted mother, Marcia was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Genesis Sunday School Class. She was a 1972 graduate of Coker College and employed as a Financial Aid Counselor for USC Upstate. Survivors include her husband Christopher W. Easler of the home; a daughter, Kathleen Easler Prater and her husband Ervin R. Prater, Jr. of Inman; three brothers, Pat G. Smith and his wife Rosalie of Springdale, George M. Smith of West Columbia, and John T. Smith of Springdale; her Aunt and Uncle, Daisy D. and Carol Boyd of Santuck; and her granddog, Ellie. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Charles Thrower. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Shelter of the Upstate, PO Box 2663, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
