Malcolm Ridings

Malcolm Lee Ridings, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the Golden Age Nursing Home-Inman. Born August 22, 1931, in Fingerville, SC, he was the son of the late Otis and Penola McIntyre Ridings. A United States Air Force Veteran, Mr. Ridings was a retired manager with Piedmont Interstate Warehouse. He was a Gideon and member of Beaumont Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, was chairman of the Deacons and was a member of numerous other groups. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joan Staggs Ridings; son, Craig Ridings of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Jill Bryant of Rock Hill, SC; grandson, Cameron Ridings of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Conrad Ridings of Fingerville, SC and Eugene Ridings (Shannon) of Gramling, SC, and sister, Martha Calvert (Corvis) of Fingerville, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Kenneth Ridings. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. John Cox and the Rev. Rupert E. Guest. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
