Maizie Worrock

Maizie Poteat Worrock, 86, of Boiling Springs, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 25, 1925, in Spartanburg, she was the widow of Lindley Payson "L. P." Worrock, and daughter of the late William Jesse Poteat, Sr. and Girtha Bradley Poteat. Mrs. Worrock was retired from Mayfair Mills and also worked at Burlington Industries in Valley Falls, SC. She was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg. Surviving are her daughters, Ruth W. Bridgeman and Debbi W. Horton (Brent), all of Boiling Springs, SC; sons, Christopher L. Worrock of Greenwood, SC, and R. Scott Worrock of Boiling Springs, SC; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by a sister, Vesta Lee Quinn; and a brother, William Jesse Poteat, Jr. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. John Leathers. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
