Madora Pittman

December 22, 1929 — July 3, 2017

Mrs. Madora Bonner Holder Pittman, 87, of Greenville, SC, and formerly of Spartanburg, died Monday, July 3, 2017, at her home. Born December 22, 1929, in Cowpens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl Moses Bonner and Estelle Turner Bonner Price. A graduate of Cowpens High School Class of 1946 and the University of South Carolina School of Nursing, Mrs. Pittman was a registered nurse. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Greer, SC. She was also a member of the Joshua Hawkins DAR, Colonial Dames and the UDC. Survivors include her husband, The Reverend Dr. Clarence O. Pittman of the home; son and daughter-in-law, David Len Holder and Toni Holland Holder of Drayton, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Denise Holder Jones and A. David Jones of Blythewood, SC; grandson, Andrew "Andy" Jones and his wife Christy Curtis Jones of Columbia, SC, and Jennifer Jones Goyak and her husband Matthew Goyak of Tega Cay, SC; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and brother, Alfred Eugene Price and his wife Gloria of Lacy, WA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, The Reverend David W. Holder and brothers, Carl H. Bonner and Ben Allen Price. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 PM Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Linda Guthrie, The Reverend David Ervin, and Julia Howard. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, 1310 Old Spartanburg Road, Greer, SC 29650; or Tamassee DAR School, PO Box 8, Tamassee, SC 29686. The family is at the home of The Reverend Dr. Clarence O. Pittman.
