Madeline May Hamrick Johnson, 91, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at her home. Born April 18, 1922, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Hamrick and Nellie Stepp Hamrick Sitton, and widow of Max Johnson. A very wonderful mother and grandmother, Mrs. Johnson "Maw-maw" was retired from S&S Manufacturing after 20 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Zion Tabernacle where she was the treasurer for many years and a Sunday School teacher. Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Jonas of Chesnee, SC, Elizabeth McElrath and Carolyn Davis, both of Fingerville, SC, and Judy Kneisley of Spartanburg, SC; son, Bobby Johnson of Fingerville, SC; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, John Lee Sitton and Marvin Sitton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Wayne Johnson and Michael Johnson. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Mt. Zion Tabernacle, 650 Miller Farm Rd., Inman, SC 29349, by the Rev. Kevin Mayfield and the Rev. Lloyd Morgan.
