M. Alexander

Melvin Myles Alexander, 82, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home. Born May 30, 1930, in Fairforest, SC, he was the son of the late Melvin M. and Mattie Gentry Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church, a wholesale car dealer for many years and later worked security for Wal-Mart. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy Wilt Alexander; sons, Jonathan Alexander and Miles Alexander (Loretta), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Mary, Michael, and Jacqueline Alexander of Spartanburg, SC, and Shannon McClellan of Plant City, FL; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Davis of Fairforest, SC; and brother, John Gentry Alexander (Kay) of Fairforest, SC. He was predeceased by a daughter, Melody James; and grandson, Bryan Roberts. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2013, in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Brent Dowis and the Rev. Jan King. Visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
