Luther Earl Pye, 90, of Inman, SC died Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his home. Born July 6, 1923 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Pearl Rhineheart Pye. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and owner of Main Street Hardware in Inman. After his retirement, Luther was the train conductor at Cleveland Park. Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Helen Lytle Pye; children, Luke Pye (Iris) of Inman, SC, Gail Finley of Wilmington, NC, and Jody Pye (Tammie) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Emily Pye of Greenville, SC, Luke Pye, III of Inman, SC, Jimmy Finley, Jr. of Wilmington, NC, and Lisa Causey of Leland, NC; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Horton of Inman, SC. Visitation will be 2:00-3:45 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Al Phillips and the Rev. Tony Didway.
