Lula Terry

Lula Mae Boles Terry, 97, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 16, 1912, in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Spear and Rosa Ella Manning Boles and widow of James Henry Terry. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Terry Gilbert-South and husband Bill of Mexico, MO; a son, H. Nelson Terry and wife Judy of Spartanburg; a sister, Sally A. Thacker of Hartwell, GA; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas C. Terry; a granddaughter, Caroline Boles Terry; six brothers; and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at New Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elberton, GA, conducted by the Rev. Edgar Boles. Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
