Lula Hayes

Lula Elizabeth "Libby" Hayes, 87, of Moore, SC, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Windsor House. Born October 15, 1927, in Inman, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin Cox and Lula Hudgins Cox and widow of John Ransom Hayes. Mrs. Hayes retired from Jackson Mills after 42 years of service. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. With a servant's heart, she volunteered with Spartanburg Regional Hospital for over 23 years. She was devoted entirely to her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an avid Clemson football fan. Survivors include her son, H. Roy Hayes (Wanda) of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson (James), Jeffrey Hayes (Lisa), and Katherine Hayes, all of Moore, SC; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jenna, and Julie Anderson, and John Hayes; sister, Jessie Gregory of Inman, SC; and a very large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 1:45-2:45 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2015, in the sanctuary at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 790 Hwy 417, Moore, SC 29369 with funeral services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Rob White and the Rev. E. Todd Buchner. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
