Lucille Scales

Lucille Martin Scales, 100, of Pacolet, SC, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her home. Born October 19, 1913, in Dawsonville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth Tyner Martin and widow of Claude Eugene Scales. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Scales was a member of Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, a longtime Sunday School teacher, a member of United Methodist Women (UMW), and former member of The Pacolet Senior Center. Surviving are her three sons, Larry Scales (Wanda), Ken Scales (Kathryn), and Keith Scales; four grandchildren, Joey Scales, Sherry Goodwin (Randy), Michael Scales (Alyson), Victoria Lawson (Mickey); nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, 160 Limestone St., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Bette Ann Hedden. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, 160 Stone Street, Pacolet, SC 29372. The family is at the home.
