Lucille Dismukes

Ruby Lucille Banks Dismukes, 72, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 22, 2016 at her home. Born October 30, 1943 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Helton and Ethel Mae McMahon Banks. Lucy was a former Girl Scout leader, a charter board member of SCPIE (Parents Involved in Education); an active member of Citizens for Efficient Government. She attended United Baptist Church. She was a Cecil's Business College graduate. Her proudest accomplishment was being a homemaker, mother, and wife. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Harry Keith Dismukes; six children, Brian Dismukes (Patty); Leslie Leso (Chris); Phillip Dismukes (Kristen); Thomas Dismukes (Kim); Samuel Dismukes; Elizabeth Marks (Jay); 21 grandchildren; and sister, Faye Hunsuck. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Jolly and Muriel Wofford. Visitation will be 2:00 - 2:45 PM Monday, October 24, 2016 at United Baptist Church, 7319 Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory. Burial will be in Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, 1302 Little Mountain Road, Wellford, SC 29385. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Baptist Church Building Fund, 7319 Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family will be at the home of Chris and Leslie Leso, 265 Fairway Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
