Lucile Wofford

Lucile Miller Wofford, 96, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at her home. Born March 26, 1917, in Poplar Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Ed Miller and Lula Boiter Miller, and widow of Samuel H. Wofford Jr. Mrs. Wofford was very fond of her sons, grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She taught fourth grade for Spartanburg County District #2 for 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg, a true fan of our local college sports teams; USC, Wofford, and Clemson, and had a lifelong passion for gardening. She received her BA Degree from Limestone College, Class of 1938. Surviving are her sons, Samuel H. Wofford III of Boiling Springs, SC, and Kenneth Miller Wofford (Tracy) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Kenneth Miller Wofford Jr. of Columbia, SC, and Katie Leigh Wofford of Greenville, SC; sister, Marion Seay (James) of Poplar Springs, SC; and special friends, Renee Artison and Georgia McAbee. She was predeceased by brothers, Joe Miller, James Miller, and Bill Miller; and sisters, Thelma Daniel and Cozette Price. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
