Lucian Russell Easler, Sr., 77, of 834 Rice Road, Spartanburg, went to be with the Lord at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 27, 2009. He was born on December 12, 1931, to the late W. M. "Doc" and Ethel Burns Easler of Spartanburg. He was married to Sarah Anne Swofford Easler for almost fifty eight years. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy, was a pharmacist at Smith Ouzts Drugs for twenty one years, and was retired from Jack's Pharmacy after thirteen years. He was a Korean War Veteran, a member of the Bobo McCraw Chapter #204, and a Shriner. He was a faithful member and usher at the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, a member of the Al Martin Sunday School Class, and the Young at Heart. In addition to his wife, Sarah, he is survived by one daughter, Dianne Easler of the home, and one son, Russ Easler and his wife Sharon of Spartanburg; two grandsons, Brandon Kyle and Taylor Bryce; a sister, Miriam Tisdale of Spartanburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Tisdale; and a brother, Wallace Easler. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Norman Tisdale, Steve Parris, Jay Easler, Chuck Weber, Mike Weber, and Steven Weber. The Al Martin Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escort.
